Riding The Crimson Wave: The Reasons Why Periods Can Be Painful
It’s that time again.
The time of the month that is.
Ever since I started having my first period I hated having to go through it on a monthly basis. I’m pretty regular too.
There is a lot to know about periods. It’s more than the release of blood through the vagina.
It’s quite interesting actually.
Ever since I started having my period, I hated it. Because every time it came I knew that I had to make a few arrangements which were also coupled with anxiety.
It is not much of a problem now. But when I was younger I was always embarrassed to purchase any menstruation products. Always looking out to make sure no one watched me reached out for the box of pads or tampons.
When it also came to purchasing at check-out, I always made sure the checker was a woman and never a man. If a man was only available, I would leave the store and go somewhere else.
Ahhh…the stigma is real. But mind you, this isn’t a problem anymore. If I need something, I just get it.
However, I still have this problem…
Anxiety would also be heightened due to the fact that being on my period meant constantly having to worry about leakage and staining.
And I have way too many period accidents! I’d love to tell you about them (not really) but at the moment I am just too embarrassed to recall them.
